Structured Problem Solving Helps Railroads Address Challenges Effectively
The Structured Problem Solving (SPS) program is a a multi-day, highly interactive course that enables an organization to develop and apply problem-solving skills more effectively, helping team members identify and implement innovative solutions to address various issues.
The SPS program has three main objectives. Instructors will:
-
- Teach a step-by-step problem-solving approach that will make solving problems easier while discovering innovative solutions.
- Broaden participants’ perspectives and provide a structure for thinking and identifying creative solutions.
- Offer a common language across the organization and give team members the competency to create more progressive and well-thought-out solutions to new and old problems.
After completing the program, participants will be able to:
-
- Embrace the problem-solving framework to look at problems in a new and effective way.
- Apply a problem-solving approach to solve “real-time” issues in their work areas.
- Champion the problem-solving program within the organization as a leadership best practice.
- Develop skills to efficiently and effectively communicate issues and their best solutions.
This training can be provided at a railroad’s location, or individuals can participate at a regional training event. Contact SLSI to learn more or schedule an event.
